Supercar Rounds 5-6 coming up soon PDF Print E-mail

With only 3 weeks to go before the 5th and 6th round on the Thailand Supercar Series, preparations are forging ahead, and 2 test days have been planned before the race weekend, which mainly will be spent on setting up the car for the circuit and testing tire pressures, and brake cooling capacity.

In rounds 1 and 2, we did well until we have mechanical problems, and both days retired from podium positions. In rounds 3 and 4 we did even better, and this time, we seemed to have resolved the reliability issues, and managed to finish 3rd and 4th in the Championship.

This means we now are 6th in the drivers championship standings with 103.5 points, and in the Team Championship we have moved up to 2nd place in the Championship, largely due to the consistency of Pete and his Mazda & plus the 2 good finishes we had with the Subaru last time, combined with a bit of bad luck from a few of the other teams, which all is a part of racing.

We know we have done a 1.03.6 at the track before during testing, when the car was less powerful and had major handling and braking problems, so the aim must be to try and better this time leading up to the race weekend, and get close to the Subaru of A-Motorsport, who until now have seemed firmly positions as the fastest non-space frame car on the Circuit.

The race is being held in the middle of the rainy season of Thailand, so the chances of rain is higher than normal, so lets hope the sky will open up the flood gates for a short period of time before each of the races so we have a better chance to fight for one of the top spots this time.

Looking forward to the weekend.

To see the race schedule have a look at www.supercarthailand.com the program might not be up, but about one to two weeks before it’s normally posted on their web-site.
